Members in Ministry at Triumphant Cross

As Christians we recognise that all we have, our time, or talents and our posessions are all gifts from God, signs of His Gracious love. We recognise that we are called on to share t hese gifts with our brothers and sisters, using them in our ministry of sharing the love we have come to know through Jesus Christ. At Triumphant Cross all of our members participate in this ministry as we share our own gifts with each other and with our community.

The following pages reflect the breadth of this ministry. to our own community, to the Salem NH area, and beyond.

Our Worship Ministry

In Worship we gather as a community to sing, pray, learn and celebrate the Lord's Supper. As a community, we depend on each other as each of us uses their own unique gifts to support and enhance our worship.

We gather together in worship each Sunday morning, at 8:30 am and 11:00am. During July and August we have a single worship service at 9:00am

Our members share their gifts with others through our Worship ministry through:

  • Altar Care
  • Singing in our Liturgical Choir
  • Playing in our Handbell Choir
  • Serving at worship as Ushers, Lectors or Communion Assistants
  • Assisting in our nursery during worship
  • Video Taping services for shut-ins

Our Fellowship Ministry

In our Fellowship Ministry we follow Jesus' instruction to go into the world and share the Good News. Fellowship begins by simply letting others know that you like your church and that your faith is important to you. In Fellowship we care for each other and offer friendship and welcome to others in our community.

We hope that you too will join us in celebrating the Good News of God's love for us through Jesus Christ, either with us at Triumphant Cross or in your own church community.

Our Learning Ministry

A strong tradition of biblically based education has been an important part of the Lutheran tradition since the time of the reformation. Learning begins with the first contact one has with our congregation and its emphasis on the gift of God's Grace. An educated community is key to continuing an atmosphere of openness and tolerance while maintaining a strong commitment to Lutheran beliefs.

During the school year our Sunday School, led by dedicated volunteer teachers at each grade level, is in session from 9:45 - 10:45 each Sunday morning. Additional confirmation classes for junior high aged students are held during the week. We have an active youth group and adult learning opportunities are also available at various times throughout the year.

Our Youth Ministry

Triumphant Cross has an active youth program for junior and senior highschool aged youth led by staff Youth Minister Heidi Jakoby.  In addition to a regular youth forum on Sunday mornings, our youth have participated in local activities such as bowling and rock climbing, regional activities such as the annual "Hammonasset weekend campout" and national Lutheran events such as the 2003 ELCA wide youth gathering in Atlanta.
